Joe's specialty: Preventing overhead sports injuries
Joe Pratt majored in exercise science at Western Oregon University and went on to earn his doctorate in physical therapy from Southwest Baptist University of Missouri in 2014. With a degree in exercise science and as a former college athlete, Joe has a strong background in biomechanics and competitive sports. He has experience in both the skilled nursing setting and hospital setting and can help make a patient's transition to daily activities at home much easier.
Joe believes in a hands-on approach and utilizes a variety of evidence based manual therapy techniques to restore a patient's level of function. Joe utilizes techniques including: myofascial release, active release, strain counter-strain, and is certified in the Graston Technique®. He emphasizes empowering his patients by giving them the knowledge and skills they need to manage and restore their condition or injury. Joe enjoys developing individualized treatment programs for patients of all ability and activity levels.
Joe and his wife decided to raise their family in the Newberg community in order to be closer to family, good schools and also to be able to enjoy the environment of a small college town. They were initially drawn to this area because they felt it is one of the prettiest places in Oregon and now they feel at home here, and as the welcoming signs at the edge of the city say, 'Newberg is a good place to grow'.
